My name is Miguel Ach...

I was born in Mexico City on April 23, 1995. I am a photographer from the air to the sea, a filmmaker, and a musician. I have been very passionate about art since I was five years old, and I like to do something new, impossible, and creative, which means that sometimes I try to break the rules of modern art. I have a lot of sensitivity to seeing, hearing, and feeling colors, details, sounds, and non-physical things. Many people always tell me that I see what others do not see.

I grew up with art

When I was five years old, I watched my parents taking photos and videos of family members with their DSLR cameras. I was curious about the cameras and asked my parents if they could show me how to use these. My parents taught me to handle the camera and take pictures of my sisters and dogs. I was fascinated by the cameras, but the images were more interesting because of the colors and details. One day, my parents gave me some Star Wars movies, and I put them on to watch in the morning before school every day! Before the Star Wars main theme appeared, there were "behind the scenes" of how they did it, and they made me more curious. I repeated them several times even though I was only five years old! So I did ask my parents to lend me their cameras again to try, like the ones that made Star Wars. Over time, I made more videos and photos in many ways and even made short films. In addition, I kept watching behind the scenes of all the movies, especially Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I never stopped watching, learning, and shooting. I became addicted to the cinema and told my parents I wanted to be a film director.

At 12 years old, I took various courses in photography, editing, and music in the afternoons after school. But I also watched many Michael Jackson videos and learned to dance just by watching the videos. I participated in a talent course at my school festival and danced like Michael Jackson. From there, they hired me to do more dances for events such as inaugurations, Mother's Day, Children's Day, and tournaments with my classmates within the school. But I didn't want to do just only dance, but a complete show; what I did was I put together a group of friends and family to make costumes, music, scenery, and dancers precisely as they did in Michael Jackson's concerts. It was the first time I learned by doing everything as a director, producer, set designer, choreographer, and musician. I made several shows for four years. I became famous from my school, but I also became a dance teacher to teach children.

At 20, I graduated and entered the university to study business administration. I chose that career to have good stability like all my friends, but I did not feel good because it was difficult for me, and I left. Later, my mother found an underwater photography course, which was great and exciting, and of course, I always love the sea and animals. I studied and practiced a lot under the sea. There I realized that the sea is polluting and nobody knew it, it made me very sad. But, I also learned that by looking at the eyes of the animals, I could feel something more than the words, which is why I took photos of each animal because I know that the pictures say a lot, like a message. I received recognition for having made underwater photography exhibitions to avoid the danger of extinction.

At 23, my parents sent me to a university in Gallaudet, which was an excellent opportunity for me, but I had no idea what to study. I chose education, but it was not my thing either. So, I tried other classes, one of them was the theater, which fascinated me, and I studied theater and production for years until the pandemic, which was the coronavirus, hit everyone. It affected my family and me a lot. I dropped out of college despite having two semesters left to finish. I returned to Mexico to create a business that allowed my family and me to eat and sleep. But, I was always asking myself, "why have I never studied for a film career?" simply because I was afraid of money… So I began to change my way of thinking and leave all my past because I wanted to be myself and make art like I used to do when I was a kid. After all, I like it, and I'll never think about it just for money.

"It is only in being creative that the individual discovers the self.”

I am a very visual person.

I was born with auditory neuropathy, one of the most common problems that come from the weakness of the brain. I cannot understand some words when a person speaks, in writing, and when there is a lot of noise outside. But there is a solution that takes time through a lot of practice because it is muscular. My life with auditory neuropathy has always been very challenging; for example, I had trouble concentrating in school due to words and would get distracted or fall asleep in class. However, going outside and seeing the world and then doing something creative helps me breathe and clear my mind so I can be myself and enjoy today, which means that art is my therapy.

Academy and achieves

I obtained several studies and a lot of practice in photography, cinematography, music, editing, production, performing arts, and acting in Mexico and the United States, for many years.

Much love,
